Our Mission
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) is a private-sector, non-profit corporation, created by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, to oversee the auditors of public companies in order to protect the interests of investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, fair, and independent audit reports.

Job Description
The Office of the Chief Auditor�s principal responsibility is to advise the PCAOB Board members on the establishment of auditing and related professional practice standards. These standards include auditing standards for performing and reporting on audits of the financial statements and internal control over financial reporting of U.S. public companies, and related standards of independence, ethics, and quality control. Assistant Chief Auditors will have a range of duties and responsibilities, and will interact with the Chief Auditor, Board members, and external parties.

Responsibilities
� Standards setting. Assistant Chief Auditors will be expected to actively participate in drafting proposed standards, and in presenting and discussing issues related to such proposals with the Board, the Board�s advisory group, and other external parties.
� Task forces. Assistant Chief Auditors will be expected to actively participate in task forces composed of representatives from the accounting profession and other constituency groups.
� External parties. Assistant Chief Auditors will interact with members of one or more external groups or organizations. Important constituency groups include regulators such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. General Accounting Office, and the Office of Management and Budget; standards setters such as the Financial Accounting Standards Board, International Accounting Standards Board, and the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board; professional bodies such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the financial statement preparer community represented by organizations such as Financial Executives International; and the financial statement user community represented by organizations such as the Association for Investment Management and Research.
� Public speaking. The PCAOB receives numerous requests to speak at conferences and other gatherings. Assistant Chief Auditors will be expected to participate. This likely will involve light travel.

Qualifications
� Bachelor's degree required; MBA/Master's degree a plus.
� Current CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license.
� 8 years of experience in public accounting.
� Strong experience in auditing public companies.
� Superior technical, regulatory, leadership and communication skills.
� Policy setting experience is preferred, but not required.
� Knowledge and expertise with industry standard testing tools and incident tracking tools a plus.
� Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
� Strong verbal and writing communication skills.
