A publicly traded REIT is seeking a highly qualified Property Accountant Manager to supervise 2-3 Senior Accountants.
Duties:
-Review accounting for commercial, residential and hospitality properties managed by third party managers -Assist director with the purchase price allocation and accounting for all rental property acquisitions -Ensure all fixed asset additions are purchased, placed in service and depreciated per company�s capitalization policy -Assist in maintenance of Fixed Asset System (FAS) to account for all fixed asset additions, calculations of depreciation and amortization -Assist in review of annual fixed assets budgets submitted by management companies -Monitor debt service covenants for compliance with all covenants and prepare debt reporting packages -Review cash escrow balances and ensure amounts agree to mortgage statements -Ensure mortgage payments are properly recorded in general ledger -Ensure other assets are properly expensed -Review preparation of monthly owners distribution requests -Review preparation of tax schedules for annual tax return -Assist in preparation and posting of monthly close entries -Assist in calculation of monthly supplemental financial schedules and preparation of monthly executive reporting package -Responsible for supervision of 2-3 senior accountants
Qualifications:
-CPA, CPA candidate -5-9 years of accounting experience (2-3 years must be in public accounting) -Real estate industry experience is a plus -Outstanding oral and written communication skills -Supervisory experience preferred
